The 2003 CUC organizing committee would like to invite all players, volunteers and staff to what promises to be a highlight of this year's National Championships. We are taking the traditional Saturday night hodown to a whole new level this year! Montreal is a party town and this shindig is going to be a rager.

Set in the most beautiful location on the island, the chalet on top of Mount Royal is the ideal place to host the elite of the Canadian Ultimate scene. Take in the gorgeous views while grooving to the beat of a funky live band, jive to the two Montreal-style DJs and marvel at the performance artists on site.

Of special note, a trip for two in Thailand (land only) for 10 days and 9 nights in Bangkok, Chaing Mai and Pattaya will be raffled off. Don't miss out, every player is automatically entered in the draw but if you are not present - you can't win. Get there early and . . . stay all night long!

The thriving Montreal music scene has served as a breeding ground for the talents and imagination of the members of Kobayashi. Incorporating various styles from its eight band members has allowed for an eclectic melting of hiphop, jazz, funk, and electronica. Kobayashi's roster consists of alto and tenor saxes, bass, drums, keys, a DJ, a vocalist and an mc, ready to deliver a high energy live show.

Transportation

On foot:
The chalet is an easy walk from downtown Montreal. There are several points on the winding paths up Mount Royal that access the Chalet. From the base of the mountain, follow the path from its origin on Parc Avenue to the stairs just north of Peel. Climb up the stairs and you are only minutes away from the Chalet. Sign posts at regular intervals along the mountain paths direct you to the Chalet. Please note that the park officially closes at 11pm and you may not walk up or down the path anytime after that. (see map)

By bus:
We have arranged for buses to pick guests up at key and central locations throughout the evening and a drop guests off at the end of the evening. The locations and schedule will be communicated to you during the tournament. If you would like to drive to the party, please do not drink. There is ample parking at the main parking lot on Mount Royal which costs $3.75 for the entire evening. See map for driving directions.

Party Etiquette :

The party is being held at a Montreal Heritage location. There is no direct access by vehicle so you may not drive up to the front door. It is about a five-minute walk from the Mount Royal parking lot to the party locale. Please respect the forest by staying on the designated pathways.

  • Use the forest as your toilet
  • Wander off into the woods. The mountain is closed to the public
    after 11 pm.
