2005 Canadian Ultimate Championships
The Fields
Maple Grove Rugby Park was the site of the 1994 Canadian Ultimate Championships and will host this national event again in 2005. It is located at St. Mary's Road and the Perimeter Highway.
Maple Grove Park is a 20-minute drive from the downtown Winnipeg host hotels. To ease costs and travel logistics, shuttle busses will be operating between the Fairmont and the fields. Busses will depart on a convenient and regular basis to ensure players can get to and from their games on time (in urgent cases, a one-way cab ride between Maple Grove and downtown will cost $30).
As expected at a national-caliber event, field amenities at Maple Grove Park will be extensive.
Medical services will include massage and physiotherapy personnel, as well as emergency responders. Extra taping staff will be on hand in the morning to eliminate the customary long waits associated with large tournaments. The nearest hospital is a 10-minute drive away.
A multitude of food choices will be available on site—more than typical outdoor fare—so players won't need to leave the site to fuel up. As expected, beer gardens will be operating every day.
Parking may be a problem, so it is expected that each team will be issued with only 5 vehicle passes. Additional parking along the road starts approximately 1000 meters from disc central.
There are no dogs allowed at the event. This means NO DOGS ALLOWED AT THE EVENT!
