Q. The Holiday Inn Select on Robie St backs right on the main fields area. Can we access the fields from Robie, Bell and Cogswell, or does the park have a main entrance on the other side? In other words, if we stay at the Holiday Inn Select right at the Commons, are we sacrificing a lot of convenience, or are we gaining by staying next to the park?
A. Yes, you have access to the Main fields from the Holiday Inn Select, it's a convenient location to stay. There are some other things to consider: there are satellite fields, so not all your games will be at the Halifax Commons. We've worked a great deal with the Delta: they've given us a great rate for August. The Delta is much closer to the night life downtown. The tournament shuttle buses will likely start from the Delta.
Q. Are the SMU residences air conditioned.
A. No.
Q. Will there be shuttle buses from the SMU residences and the Delta?
A. Yes, buses will be travelling from both locations. However, the bus
schedule has not been finalized yet, it will be posted as soon as we get a
signed contract. Note: it's only a 15 minute walk from the Delta to the main
Halifax Commons fields.
Q. I wasn't able to book a car with Avis, they didn't have the listed discount number.
A. The number had not been processed by Avis, it is working now (Avis,
1-800-331-1600; discount number "J995124").
