The Green Mission

Green event

As this is the first time 1000 players are coming from across Canada to the Atlantic for an amazing four days of ultimate, the CUC '06 organizing committee felt this was a great opportunity to showcase Nova Scotia's many progressive initiatives while having a positive impact on the local community and economy. Consequently, the CUC '06 tournament directors worked with a Green Team to foster social benefits within the community, while minimizing environmental impacts during the tournament.

Objectives and Accomplishments

  1. Minimize waste by reducing consumption, recycling, and re-using materials
    • Providing proper compost, recycling, and waste receptacles at all fields
    • Using Green Shift compostable beer cups at beer tent and Saturday night party
