Deadline for CUUC & CEUUC Bids Extended

The deadline to submit a bid to host the 2008 Canadian University Ultimate Championships (October 2008) & the 2008 Canadian Eastern University Ultimate Championships (Fall 2008) has been extended to April 30, 2008.  All completed bids should be sent to ed AT canadianultimate.com.

CUPA is now accepting bids to host CUC, CUUC & CEUUC

CUPA is seeking bids to host the 2009 Canadian Ultimate Championship (August 2009), the 2008 Canadian University Ultimate Championships (October 2008) & the 2008 Canadian Eastern University Ultimate Championships (Fall 2008).  All completed bids should be sent to ed AT canadianultimate.com by  March 31, 2008.

CUPA Board of Directors Applications

Three positions on the CUPA board of directors have just come up for election.  There is 1 in the Prairies, 1 in Ontario and 1 in Quebec.  Joining the CUPA board of directors is a great way to contribute to the Canadian Ultimate community.  For more information on the board positions and application procedures please follow the 2008 board nomination links: English link, French link.  The deadline to apply for the board of directors in Friday, February 15th at 5 pm CDT.


CUPA is seeking proposals to develop an eNewsletter

The Canadian Ultimate Players Association (CUPA) is looking to develop a quarterly newsletter to distribute electronically amongst our membership.  The CUPA is currently taking proposals from contractors to develop and distribute this newsletter. 

Major Details

  • Produce a quarterly electronic newsletter in English and French.  Volunteers may be available for translation from one language to the other. 

  • Content: Responsible for ensuring that there is visual and written content for each of the following areas: At least one story from each of CUPA’s regions (BC, Alberta, Prairies, Ontario, Quebec & Atlantic), at least 1 story from CUPA and a list of upcoming tournaments & events.

  • Develop a template for the CUPA newsletter

  • Distribute the CUPA newsletter

  • Contract for 3 years

  • Submissions are due by February 20th, 2008 at 5pm C.S.T.

National Junior Team: Coaches & Player applications

The applications for 2008 WUGC coaches for the Canadian Junior Open & Junior Women's teams are now available online.  Player applications are also available.  2008 WUGC Junior Information.


Team Canada Applications

The 2008 World Ultimate & Guts Championships are set to take place from August 2-9, 2008 in Vancouver, B.C.  Canada will be sending a team to participate in each of the 6 divisions: Open, Women's, Mixed, Masters, Junior Open & Junior Women's.  The core of each national team (except for the junior's division) will be the 2007 CUC champion for the respective division.  Each team will be selecting additional players from across the country to add to their roster.  For information on how to apply to one of the national team, please visit the Team Canada linkThanks to everyone who has applied.   


Ultimate in the Olympics

Ultimate has won bronze in the Petro Canada I Will Dream Big Contest.  Thanks to everyone from Montreal that helped put together this bid and raise the profile of Ultimate in Canada.
