Registration for the World Ultimate Club Championships to be held November 12 to 19 in Perth, Australia is now open.

CUPA has to date selected 3 Women’s, 5 Mixed, 4 Open and 3 Masters teams, based on their CUC 2005 final standings, for the first-round bids which have been allocated to Canada.

Future spots will be allocated according to WUCC’s waiting list policy in conjunction with CUPA.

Please note that competitive teams can apply to be on the wait list for additional bids. If your team is interested in participating at WUCC, please join the wait list on its site at: http://wucc2006.org/?p=article&id=24. It will cost AU$500 to be on the wait list. If your team is not granted a spot, a full refund will be issued by WUCC.

If two Canadian teams in any division apply to be on the wait list, then WUCC will contact CUPA as to which team should be ranked first. If a spot becomes available, it will then go to the top-ranked team. However, if there are 2 Canadian teams which want to be on the wait list and only 1 registers, and a spot becomes available, then the bid will go to the team that registered even if the other team would have been ranked higher.

As noted above, CUPA selected its initial WUCC teams according to their CUC 2005 final standings. Other CUC 2005 teams, in order of their final standings in their respective divisions, will be the first to be allocated additional bids as they become available should they apply.

If a team did not participate in CUC 2005, the team will be ranked by CUPA, in its sole discretion, on the basis of various factors, including past CUC and other tournament participation and competitive results.

Team waitlist applications need to be made to WUCC by no later than April 30 though CUPA requires notification of applications by no later than April 15. It will then be in a position to consider the applications and make recommendations to WUCC as additional bids become available for Canadian teams.
